"The first time I was called an artist was in a high school English class.
I was asked by the teacher to describe the ocean.
Having never visited the sea I told her that I had no way of describing it.
I muttered something about blue water in a box after she asked me if I had seen the ocean on TV. She was frustrated by my answer and kept prodding me to come up with a description until a fellow student spoke up for me.
"Miss Tudor, Matt is an artist. How could he honestly tell you about something he hasn't seen?" Other voices chimed in with agreement.
I am many things; a husband, father, and grand-parent. I have been a radio personality, foster parent, and even a pizza delivery guy. Though no matter what I have been or will become I am an artist first and foremost.
My art is simple with flaws that make it unique, truthful, and beautiful."
